Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: December 15, 2025

These Terms and Conditions apply to electrical services provided by 021 Electrician (“we”, “us”, “our”). They sit alongside any written quote, scope of works, invoice, or booking confirmation we give you. If there is a conflict, the written quote or invoice terms take priority.

By booking work with us, you agree to these Terms.

1. Quotes and scope of work

  • Quotes are based on the information you give us and, where relevant, a site visit.

  • If the scope changes, access is restricted, hidden defects are found, or additional work is needed for safety or compliance, we may issue a revised quote or charge for variations.

  • Unless stated, quotes are valid for a reasonable period and may be affected by supplier price changes.

2. Bookings, access, and cancellations

  • You agree to provide safe, reasonable access to the property and the work area at the agreed time.

  • If we arrive and cannot access the job, or the site is not ready, a callout or wasted visit charge may apply.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give as much notice as possible. Short notice cancellations may be charged where we have reserved time, ordered materials, or turned away other work.

Emergency callouts and urgent hazards may affect scheduled times. We will keep you informed where we can.

3. Pricing, extras, and materials

  • Prices may include labour, materials, certification, and disposal where stated. If not stated, they are not included.

  • Parts and materials may be substituted with equivalent items if availability changes, unless you specify otherwise in advance.

  • Any additional work requested on site will be priced separately.

4. Payment terms

  • Payment terms will be shown on your invoice or agreed in writing.

  • Late payments may result in follow up charges, suspension of non urgent work, or delays to further scheduling.

  • Where deposits are agreed for larger jobs or ordered materials, the deposit must be paid before materials are ordered or work begins.

5. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • provide accurate information about the property and the issue

  • point out known hazards (for example asbestos, water leaks, damaged structures, pest issues, or previous electrical faults)

  • ensure pets are secured and the work area is clear and safe

  • obtain landlord, management company, or third party permissions where needed

  • confirm the location of hidden services if known (cables, pipes, alarms, data cabling)

We may refuse to proceed if we believe the site is unsafe.

6. Safety and compliance

We carry out work in line with applicable Irish standards and safe working practices. If we identify an immediate safety risk, we may recommend isolating circuits or making safe before proceeding with other works.

Certification will be provided where required and where the agreed scope includes it.

7. Warranties and defects

  • We stand over our workmanship for a reasonable period. Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied products.

  • This does not cover faults caused by misuse, accidental damage, third party interference, water ingress, vermin, or pre existing wiring issues outside the agreed scope.

  • If you believe there is a defect, you must notify us within a reasonable time and allow us the opportunity to inspect and remedy it.

8. Existing installations and hidden defects

Older properties can have unknown or non compliant wiring. We are not responsible for defects we could not reasonably detect without intrusive investigation, unless we have agreed to that investigation as part of the job.

9. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under Irish consumer law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (such as loss of profit, business interruption, or missed savings)

  • our liability for direct loss is limited to the value of the work carried out for the relevant job, unless law says otherwise

10. Delays and force majeure

We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our control, including severe weather, supplier issues, power network faults, road closures, illness, or emergencies.

11. Photos and marketing

We may take before and after photos for job records. We will only use identifiable photos for marketing if we have your permission. If you do not want photos taken, tell us before work starts.

12. Complaints

If you have a concern, contact us as soon as possible with:

  • the job address

  • the date of work

  • a clear description of the issue and any photos

We will aim to resolve issues fairly and promptly.

13. Data protection

We process personal data (name, contact details, address, job details, billing information) to provide quotes, bookings, and services. For details, retention, and your GDPR rights, see our Privacy Policy on the website.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes will be handled by the Irish courts, subject to mandatory consumer protections.

Huge thanks to Brian at 021 Electrician. We lost power to our sockets late on a Sunday night when the RCD tripped and seemed totally jammed. I rang the 24 hr emergency number and Brian answered the call straightaway. I explained my issue and he asked for a few photos of the fuse board and patiently talked me through how to safely get the switch back up and test the circuits. He even stayed online until we had everything working perfectly again. It is so rare to find a tradesman that responsive and genuinely helpful late on a weekend. Absolutely top-class service, I highly recommend him to anyone around East Cork.

A trip switch went off on Sunday night around midnight. All lights went out & burglar alarm went off. I tried to turn on relevant trip switch but it would not turn back on. I had to do something as next door neighbour had leaving cert exam next day. I knew it would be expensive to get an electrician in an emergency but had no choice. I googled “electrician cork emergency”. The first 24 hour service number I rang just rang out & nobody rang back. The second number I rang was 021 Electrician and Brian answered within a few rings. I explained problem & he said that if he had to call out he would have to charge so he would talk me through fix. First suggestion did not work so Brian kept going with more suggestions until lights came back on & alarm went off. I was very thankful & insisted on paying but Brian would not take any money. Unbelievable service!! I will definitely use 021 Electrician in future
